Considering that Mark Twain is Samuel Clemens, I have always found it amazing that very few people know that Samuel Clemens was a writer, since almost everybody knows that Mark Twain was one.

Which one of the following, if true, would most effectively resolve the apparent paradox above?

(A) Most people probably have not read anything by Samuel Clemens. - WRONG. Knowing ≠ Reading.

(B) Everyone who knows that Samuel Clemens was a writer also knows that Mark Twain was one. - WRONG. How many know? This is a big question.

(C) Most people do not know that Mark Twain is Samuel Clemens. - CORRECT. Actually most of the people don't know this fact.

(D) Many people believe apparently conflicting things about authors. - WRONG. Its not about beliefs but why most of the people don't know SC was a writer.

(E) Some people know that “Mark Twain” is a pseudonym for Samuel Clemens. - WRONG. Like B. How many know? This is a big question.

Answer C.
