B) this could possibly be true, but would not help explain a couple of things. First, it would not help explain why the experts believe the furniture is not strong enough. Second, it would not help explain why rattan users find it to be strong enough for their household use. B would only help explain why rattan users did not find strength to be an issue when buying furniture.

C) this could possibly be true again, but does nothing to help us with our goal. This provides no relationship between experts / rattan users or wooden furniture / rattan furniture.

D) this looks good. If the way experts and rattan users each judge the strength of furniture is different, that would explain why the two groups have differing opinions on the strength.
Correct answer
E) this does not specifically say anything about rattan furniture. It also does not provide any info about why the opinions on the strength of rattan furniture may differ. This only explains a possibility as to why rattan users do not find strength to be an issue. If they are less selective, they may have fewer boxes to check when choosing furniture, thus explaining why strength isn’t an issue. But again, knowing how selective experts and rattan users are when buying furniture contributes nothing to understanding why the opinions on strength differ.
