Great question! Yes, we can.

This question is asking us to provide a premise strengthening the conclusion that farmers should focus instead on specialized crops. Since the farmer contrasts specialized crops with grain crops from the previous sentence, we can reasonably deduce that the farmer does not consider grain to be a specialized crop. So an answer that makes growing grain crops easier for the farmers in this scenario doesn’t support the conclusion that they should focus on specialized crops.

That said, be careful about ruling out answers solely because of a language mismatch, especially on strengthen, weaken, and assumption questions. While it worked out in this case, sometimes answer choices introduce new ideas or concepts that weren’t considered by the argument, but do have a logical impact on the conclusion. Always consider whether the language mismatch means that the answer is out of scope or contradicting the argument, or whether it might be introducing a new, relevant idea.

can we cross A off because specialized crops isn't the same as grain crops ?
Not exactly. After all, a point about grain crops could strengthen the case for the conclusion that family farmers should focus on growing specialized crops.

For example, an additional reason why growing grain crops would not work well for family farmers would indicate that family farmer should focus on growing something else, such as specialized crops.

So, the best reason to eliminate (A) is that it goes in the wrong direction by indicating that grain crops can be grown without modern technology. If anything, that information would be a reason why family farmers could grow grain crops, not a reason why they shouldn't.
