56+48+42-30-ch_st-sp_st-2ch_sp_st = 100

gives 42-ch_st-sp_st- 2ch_sp_st = 100-74 = 26

thus 26% of 1200 gives the value = 312.

PS: Maximum amount of people is wrong usage of English here.People is countable hence number of people is correct.

In an internet research company 1200 clients were surveyed. The survey asked about 3 characteristics of the systems. The price, the speed and the stability. 56% answered it was a cheap service, 48% answered that it was a fast service, 30% answered that it was both a fast service and a cheap service and 42% answered that it was an stable service. What is the maximum amount of people that could answered that it was a stable service but not a cheap service nor a fast service?

Consider the data given for two characteristics - cheap and fast

26% + 30% + 18% = 74%
So 74% of the people said that it is cheap or fast or both. Only 26% people are left. To maximize the number of people who called it stable, we can assume that all 26% of the leftover people said that it is stable i.e. there was nobody who said that the service is 'not fast, not cheap and not stable'.
26% * 1200 = 312 people

Why is the overlap of all three categories zero? If there were overlap wouldn't the answer be a different one? Can we assume that there is zero overlap of all three categories? Thanks
