Number of people who didn't take a calculus course = 148+44 =192 that is 80% of total freshman

Number of Freshman joined the university = 192/0.8 = 240

let the total incoming freshman be x.

given 20x/100 have taken calculus 1.

80x/100 have not taken calculus 1.


also given 80x/100 = 148+44

=> x = 240
