Y percent of Z is  \frac{y}{100}*z=\frac{yz}{100} ;

X is what percent greater than that number can be expressed as:  x=(1+\frac{?}{100})*\frac{yz}{100}  -->  ?=(\frac{100x}{yz}-1)*100=\frac{10,000x-100yz}{yz} .

The question setters sometimes try to confuse you by giving you lots of variables. Try to plug in values to understand what exactly you need.

You see that you have "Y percent of Z".
Let's say Y = 10 and Z = 100 so Y percent of Z is 10% of 100 which is 10. (Try to plug in simple values.)
Next you have "X is what percent greater than..."
Say X = 12.
So the question becomes "12 is what percent greater than 10?"
We know that 12 is 20% greater than 10.

Now, in the options, just put the values of X, Y and Z and see which option gives you 20
