Hi All,

This question can also be solved by TESTing VALUES.

We're given a few facts to work with:
1) X < Y < Z
2) X = 0
3) Z = (K)(Y)
4) The average of X, Y and Z is 3(Median of X, Y and Z).

We're asked for the value of K....

Since X = 0 and Z = KY, we have...

0 < Y < (K)(Y)

IF....
Y = 2....
0 < 2 < (K)(Y)
The median = 2, so the average = 3(2) = 6

Average = Sum/3 = 6
Sum = 18

Since X = 0 and Y = 2, Z MUST = 16

So... (K)(Y) = 16 when Y = 2....
(K)(2) = 16
K = 8

Final Answer:
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
