If Bill's salary increased by 16 percent, he would earn $812 per month. If instead, his salary were to increase by only 10 percent, how much money would he earn per month?

We are told that $812 are 116% of Bills monthly salary. We can derive the following equation:
\(812=1.16 * S\). We de solve for S and get Bill's current salary $700.
We add 10% and get $770. Answer C.

If Bills salary increased by 16% his salary would be $812 which 116% of his salary
His original salary = 812 / 116 * 100 = $700
If he got 10% increase then his Salary would be 700 + 700*.1 = 770
