THE CORRECT ANSWER IS B
Cost of donuts = X
Profit on one donut = 8%
Profit on all donuts is also =8% (Well, you must know why it is so !! IF you don't know then please revisist percentage chapter again.. ok ok.. i have given the explanation at the end of the solution.... understand it , if you are confused)
X+8% of X =216
1.08X=218
X=218/1.08
X=200
ANSWER IS B
WELL, let me explain why the profit on single donut and the profit on all donuts is the same 8%We get the cost of all donuts =200
lets assume we make 10 donuts
Then one donut cost = 20$ .. right 200/10=20 $
8% profit on one donut will be = 8% of 20 = 1.60 $
1.60 $ profit on 1 donut , then profit on 10 donuts will be ===> 1.60* 10= 16 $
THIS WAS THE CASE WHEN WE CALCULATED PROFIT ON SINGLE DONUTS ONE BY ONE
NOW LETS CALCULATE PROFITS ON ALL DONUTS AT ONCE
8% of 200 (remember we just calculated that all donuts cost 200 ... see above)
so 8% of 200 ===> 16 $
See we get the same amount irrespective whether we calculate individual profit or we calculate the profit of the whole deal.
