Set S= {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, x}
x is an integer. Try the values of x (any integers) (it can only be 3.5, 4 or 4.5 depending on values of x)
since there are only 8 elements in the set, median will be of the form a.5 (as in even number of elements median = sum of middle two terms divided by 2)
using the above mentioned statement we can rule out option A, B and E
on trying various integer values only option C satisfies one of the median values.
