Although we could test each answer choice, we also could use our knowledge of units digit patterns. Of the answer choices provided, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12, we know that only numbers with a units digit of 6 raised to a whole number exponent will always produce a units digit of 6. Thus, 6 is the correct answer.
