speed of distance runner = 120/4 = 30
speed of shot putter = 30/2 = 15

The sprinter's speed is 4 times as fast as the distance runner's speed
So, the distance runner's SPEED = 30 meters per minute

The distance runner can run 120 meters twice as fast as a shot–putter
In other words, the distance runner's SPEED is two times the shot–putter's SPEED
So, the shot–putter's SPEED = 15 meters per minute

How many meters will the shot–putter on the team run in a minute?
15 meters

Bunnuel your track scenarios are killing me.

The average pace of walking is 20 minutes a mile.
A mile is approximately 1600 meters.
1600/20 = 80 meters a minute
That means a walker is walking \(\frac{80}{120}\) = \(\frac{1}{x}\) = 120 meters in 1.5 minutes
Sprinters run the 100 in about 10 seconds.
