Since 1 inch translates to 160 miles,
\(\frac{23}{8}\)inch will translate to \(\frac{23}{8}*160 = 460\)miles.
Therefore, Seaton is about 460 miles from Monroe in the map(Option E)

On the map, 1 inch = 160 actual miles. On the map, Seaton is 23/8 inches from Monroe. How far in actual distance, \(x\)?
\(\frac{Map}{Actual} =\frac{1in}{160mi}=\frac{(\frac{23}{8})}{x}\)
Either by multiplying \(x\) by the same number that the numerator of 1 is multiplied, or cross multiplying:
\(160 miles *\frac{23}{8} = (20*23) = 460\) miles
