In the Peterson Company, the ratio of upper-management to middle-management personnel is 4:3. If 75% of upper management has experience on the production line, what is the greatest proportion of the total of upper- and middle management personnel who could have experience on the production line?

(A) 5/7
(B) 3/4
(C) 6/7
(D) 7/6
(E) 7/4

Since the ratio of upper-management to middle management personnel is 4:3, U:M = 4x:3x
Since 75% of the upper management has experience on the production line, \(\frac{3}{4}*4x = 3x\)

Therefore, the greatest proportion of total of upper and middle management personal is \(\frac{3x+3x}{3x+4x} = \frac{6x}{7x} = \frac{6}{7}\)[color=#00a651](Option C)

Hi Bunuel could you please help to understand this.
How do we arrive at 6/7.

Let there be 4 upper management personnel & 3 middle-management personnel , Thus total of upper- and middle management personnel is 7

So, upper management personnel having experience on the production line is 3

Further if we consider that all middle-management personnel has experience on the production line , we have a total of 6 upper- and middle management personnel.

Thus, the greatest proportion of the total of upper- and middle management personnel who could have experience on the production line is \(\frac{6}{7}\), Answer must be (C)

Hope this helps!!! Feel free to rever in case of any further doubts.
