Income spend on rent= \(\frac{2}{5}\)x
Remaining income= x-\(\frac{2}{5}\)x= \(\frac{3}{5}\)x
Income spend on expenses= \(\frac{3}{4}\)*\(\frac{3}{5}\)x=\(\frac{9}{20}\)x
Remaining income= \(\frac{3}{5}\)x - \(\frac{9}{20}\)x= \(\frac{3}{20}\)x
\(\frac{3}{20}\)x= 180
x= $1200
Answer: B.

Let Charlene's income in January be x.
\(\frac{2}{5}*x + \frac{3}{4}*\frac{3}{5}*x + 180 = x\) -> \(\frac{2}{5}*x + \frac{9}{20}*x + 180 = x\)
\(x - \frac{2}{5}*x - \frac{9}{20}*x = 180\) -> \(\frac{3x}{20} = 180\) -> \(x = 180*\frac{20}{3} = $1200\)
Therefore, Charlene's income in January is $1200(Option B)
