Another approach.

Equation of line is: y = mx +c
Slope, m is positive
x-intercept is negative, hence -c/m <0
hence c is negative, or y-intercept is negative.
Answer is C

think you have a typo there :)
-c/m <0 --> -c<0 --> c>0

Slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
Here we get,

(y-0)/(0-(-x)) >> y/x

The slope is positive as per question, so we need positive value for 'y' in the numerator.
