Thank you for the answer, just a qq-What about 0.5*0.4 assuming these are independent events?EgmatQuantExpert

In this case the assumption that the events are independent is incorrect. Check the question statement - it says: "What is the probability that the house next door will be sold if the model home is sold first"

Hope it clarifies. :)

Can someone help me?

I read the explanation, although I got the answer right. But how I got it was I guess stupid, so can someone tell me if this method is okay or just luck?

So, I just took the possibility that the model house sells, i.e. 0.5 = 5/10
Possibility that house B sells = 0.4 = 4/10
5/10 * 4 * 10 (Probability that house A sells and then house B sells) = 20/100 = 0.2

Is this method applicable or was it just luck?
