Why we add 1 in this question

Posted from my mobile device

Because if we don't, we are not adding the increase of 850%.

Think about it....

(100/100) is not an increase of 100%.

(200/100) is an increase of 100%.

In the same way, 950/100 is an increase of 850%.

Let's take a simple example to understand the language of this question.

If one says, find 20 percent greater than 100, then what will you write?

\(100 + \frac{20}{100} * 100 = 120\)

Now, back to the question. I don't like complicated expression :blushing:
So, let's take \(A = 8 * 10^3\)

Now, apply the above logic to find the answer.
850 percent greater than A
=> \(A + \frac{850}{100} *A\)
= \(\frac{950}{100} * A\)
= \(7.6 * 10^4\)

Let me know if you have further questions!
Please give kudos if it helped you :blushing:
