Given:
- • The number 3072 is divisible by both 6 and 8
To find:
- • The nearest number, greater than 3072, which is divisible by both 6 and 8
Approach and Working:
- • As the number is divisible by both 6 and 8, it should be divisible by LCM (6, 8) = 24 also
• As we are trying to find out the next immediate number, it will be = 3072 + 24 = 3096
Hence, the correct answer is option E.

As the number 3072 is divisible by both 6 and 8, the number 3072 must be the multiple of the lcm of 6 and 8 which is 24. Adding 24 will give us the next number that will be divisible by both 6 and 8.
So ,the nest number will be (3072+24)=3096
Thus the best answer is E.
