The figure above shows the plan for the ground floor of a house. The thickness of the walls should be ignored in answering the questions. The dimensions are in feet, and each region is rectangular.
If the kitchen is square, what is the ratio of the area of the kitchen to the area of the dining room?

Given the Kitchen is a Square. So Kitchen area is 8^2
and for dining room the length is same as square but we need to find the breadth.
Breadth = Living room breadth + Hall breadth - Kitchen breadth = (14+4.5)-8 = 10.5
Area of Dining room would be = 10.5 * 8
Therefore Area of Kitchen / Area of dinig would be = 64/84 = 16/21
