At a Lumberyard, an 8 foot long wooden pole costs $3.00. At this rate, what is the cost, in cents, of pole that is 16 inch long? (1 foot = 12 inches)

1 $ = 100 Cents
1 Foot = 12 Inches

Let, X = Cost, in cents, of pole that is 16 inch long

Therefore,
Rate1 = Rate2
8 Foot / 3 $ = 16 Inch / X
8 * 12 Inches / 3 * 100 Cents = 16 Inch / X
X = 50 Cents

Hence, C.
