- • Joe’s car can travel 36 miles per gallon of fuel
To find:
- • The number of kilometers the car can travel with 10 liters of fuel
Approach and Working:
- • Joe’s car can travel \(36 * (\frac{8}{5})\) kilometers per gallon of fuel = \(\frac{288}{5}\) kilometers per gallon of fuel
- o This implies that it can travel \((\frac{288}{5})/4\) kilometers per liter of fuel = \((\frac{72}{5})\) km/liter
• Therefore, it can travel \((\frac{72}{5}) * 10\) kilometers using 10 liters of fuel = 144 kilometers
Hence, the correct answer is Option C

convert liters to gallons
so 10 liter fuel would be = 10/4 = 2.5 gallons of fuel
36 miles per gallons would give 36/5 ;7.2* 8 = 57.6 kms per gallon
mileage would be 57.6*2.5 = 144 liters
