When the line intersects x-axis the y coordinate will be 0. ( So option A, B is not possible)
Now, when y=0, the eqn becomes : 0 = 2x + 6 ==> x= -3
Hence the intersecting point will be (-3,0)
Ans D.
Now, when y=0, the eqn becomes : 0 = 2x + 6 ==> x= -3
Hence the intersecting point will be (-3,0)

Given:
In this question, we are given
- • The equation of a line y = 2x + 6
To find:
We need to determine
- • The coordinate of the point at which the given line intersects the x-axis
Approach and Working:
- • If a line intersects x-axis at a certain point, then the y-coordinate of that point becomes 0.
Replacing y = 0 in the given equation, we get
- • 0 = 2x + 6
Or, 2x = -6
Or, x = -3
Therefore, the coordinate of the point = (-3, 0)
Hence, the correct answer is option D.
