Avg of given set=(0+2+4+5+9)/5=4
Let the number removed be x so that there is no change in average of set
Now atq (0+2+4+5+9-x)/4=4
Solving for x we get, 20-x=16
X=4

Average of the set = 0 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 9 / 5 = 4
Average will remain same if we remove 4.
Sum of the set = 0 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 9 = 20
20 - 4 / 4 = 4.
Thus C is the correct answer.
