If the average of three numbers is 5a − 2 and the average of two of the numbers is 4a + 2b + 1, which of the following is the other number in terms of a and b?

A. a − 2b − 3

B. 5a + 2b + 3

C. 7a − 4b − 8

D. 9a + 2b − 1

E. 11a − 2b − 5

Let three numbers be x y and z
Now z = Avg(x,y,z)*3 - Avg(x,y)*2
=> (X+y+z) - (x+y)
=> 7a -4b -8.
