take √5 to right side and square both side
u get option C


Could you explain why the OA is A .

\((4x)^1/2 – (5)^1/2 = (3)^1/2\)

Or, \((4x)^1/2 = (3)^1/2 + (5)^1/2\)

Or, \(4x = 3 + 5 + 2*√15\) {Squaring both sides}

Or, \(4x = 8 + 2*√15\)

Or, \(x = \frac{8 + 2*√15}{4}\)

Or,\(x = 2 + \frac{√15}{2}\)


Now, Check option (C) \(\frac{(4+√15)}{2}\) = \(2 + \frac{√15}{2}\)

Yes, the answer should be C here:

√(4x) = √3 + √5
4x = (√3 + √5)^2
4x = 3 + 5 + 2√15
4x = 8 + 2√15
2x = 4 + √15
x = (4 + √15)/2

(4x)^1/2 = 3^1/2 + 5^1/2

4x = 8 + 15^1/2
