Given:
1. A certain rectangular window is half as long as it is wide.
2. Its area is 20 feet.
Asked: Its dimensions in feet are
Length = Width/2
Length < Width
It is abnormal to say A certain rectangular window is half as long as it is wide. but it does not affect the solution.
Area = Length * Width = 20
Width ^2 = 40
Width = \(\sqrt{40} = 2\sqrt{10}\)
Length =\(2\sqrt{10}/2 = \sqrt{10}\)
