If x is 1, 2, or 3 and y is either 2 or 4, then the product xy can have how many different possible values?

A. Three
B. Four
C. Five
D. Six
E. Seven

x= 3 ' 3c1
and y = 2 ; 2c1
3c1*2c1 ' 6
IMO D

Dont we need to consider 1*4 and 2*2 as same solution?? If so, the answer will be 5.

Is there another way to solve this problem without using Combinations? Does anyone have a different approach?
