- Assume alloy be of 100 gm.
BRONZE: 80% of alloy or 80
- Copper(in bronze): 60% of 80 = 48
- zinc(in bronze): 40% of 80 = 32
BRASS: rest of alloy or 20% of alloy or 20
- Copper(in brass): 50% of 20 = 10
- zinc(in brass): 50% of 20 = 10
Total zinc in alloy: 32+10 = 42, which is 42% of 100gm.
