Very simple solution: The problem tells us that the difference between percentages ( 6% and 7%) is 1% and equates this percent to 80 people. Since the problem has already established that both States have the same number of candidates we can simply do 80 * 100 to get the total candidates in each state.
The answer is C: 8000
