Given: (4x - 32)/(4 - x) + 2/(x - 3) = (1 - x)/(3 - x)

(4x - 32)/(4 - x) = (1 - x)/(3 - x) - 2/(x - 3)

OR (4x - 32)/(4 - x) = (1 - x)/(3 - x) + 2/(3 - x)
OR (4x - 32)/(4 - x) = (3 - x)/(3 - x)

==> (4x - 32)/(4 - x) = 1

OR 4x - 32 = 4-x
OR 5x = 36
OR x = 7.2

This question seems daunting but is very solvable if we remember 2 rules that we can apply
Rule 1: 1/x+1/x =2/x (use the same denominators to add fractions)

Rule 2: Y+1/x-1 = Y-1/1-x
Proof: 1+1/2-1=1-1/1-2 ---> 2=2

With these in mind lets start to solve
Step 1: switch 2/x-3 to -2/3-x
we should have the following

4(x-8)/4-x -2/3-x= 1-x/3-x

Step 3: add -2/3-x to both sides

4(x-8)/4-x= 1-x+2/3-x

Step 4: simplify and solve

4(x-8)/4-x=3-x/3-x

4(x-8)/4-x=1

4(x-8) =4-x

4x-32= 4-x

5x-36=0

5x=36

x=7+1/6

estimate 7.2
