Profits = 675,000

Amount given to partners = 0.75 * 675000 = 506250

A + B + C = 506250
A = 4B
C = 2(A+B) = 2(4B+B) = 10B

=> 4B + B + 10B = 506250
15B = 506250
B = 33750

=> A = 4 * 33750 = 135,000

Answer: C

When Joe sold his business, he gave 75% of the $675,000 profits to his three partners and kept the rest for himself.
Profit distributed among A B and C = 675000*3/4 = 506250

Partner A received four times the amount that Partner B received,
Let B received X
A will receive = 4x

Partner C received twice as much as Partner A and B received together. = 2(X+4X)

A+B+C = 506250
4X+X+2(X+4X) = 506250
5X+2X+8X = 506250
15X = 506250
X = 33750

B received 33750 amount
A will receive 33750*4 = 135,000

Answer is C

Solution


    • Let us assume that A received x dollars.

      o Money received by B \(= \frac{x}{4}\)

      o And Money received by C \( = 2*(x + \frac{x}{4}) = \frac{10x}{4}\)

    • Money received by A, B, and C together \(= x + \frac{x}{4} +\frac{10x}{4} = \frac{3}{4}*675,000\)

      \(⟹ \frac{15x}{4} = \frac{3}{4}*675,000\)

      \( ⟹ x = \frac{675,000}{5} = 135,000\)

Thus, the correct answer is Option C.
