Let the amount of sugar in the sweetened cornflakes = x grams
When the cornflakes and sugar is mixed, total amount of sugar = 10 + x grams and this is 10% of the total mixture.
i.e 10% of (225 + 10) = 10 + x
\(\frac{10}{100} * 235 = 10 + x\)
23.5 = 10 + x
x = 13.5 grams
What is the % of sugar (13.5 gms) in 225 gms of cornflakes
\(\frac{Percentage}{100} * Total = Portion\)
\(Percentage = \frac{13.5 * 100}{225} = 6\)%

Let X be the sugar content in 225 gram corn flakes
Solution: 10 gram sugar + 225*x/100 gram sugar = 235*10/100 gram sugar
10 + 2.25x = 23.5
2.25x = 13.5
X = 6
Answer is C
