To feed 10 bears for one week at the zoo requires 560 fish. If each bear eats the same amount of fish, how many fish are required to feed two fewer bears for two weeks?

A. 448

B. 864

C. 896

D. 920

E. 1020

10bears*7days ----------> 560 fish
So, 1 bearsdays ----------> 8 fish

Hence, 8 bears * 14 days --------------->8*8*14 = 896, Answer is (C)

10 bear -- 1 week -- 560 fishes
1 bear -- 1 week -- 56 fishes
8 bear -- 1 week -- 56*8 fishes

8 bears -- 2 weeks -- 56*8*2 = 896 fishes.

Let me know if you have further questions.

A. 448

B. 864

C. 896

D. 920

Solution:

The number of fish required to feed one bear for one week is 560/10 = 56. Thus, the number of fish required to feed one bear for two weeks is 56 x 2 = 112, and so to feed 10 - 2 = 8 bears for two weeks is 112 x 8 = 896.
