The number of posts would be x + 1 cause you need to include the first post (the starting point which also needs a post)

Let required number of poles be n.

6(n-1) = 8(n-5-1)

6n - 6 = 8n - 48

2n = 42

n = 21.

Therefore he bought 21 - 5 = 16 poles.

Lenght of property will be 15 x 8 = 120m.

Answer choice D
