Deconstructing the Question

Liquid 1 contains 35% milk.
Liquid 2 contains 40% milk.

We mix 15 parts of the first and 10 parts of the second.

We compute total milk and divide by total parts.

Step-by-step

Milk from first liquid:

\(0.35 \times 15 = 5.25\)

Milk from second liquid:

\(0.40 \times 10 = 4\)

Total milk:

\(5.25 + 4 = 9.25\)

Total mixture:

\(15 + 10 = 25\)

Percentage of milk:

\(\frac{9.25}{25} = 0.37 = 37\%\)
