Explanation:
total no of perfect squares from 2 to 40= 5
total no of primes from 2 to 40= 12
probability that a selected integer from 2 to 40 is a perfect square or a prime=(12+5)/39
=17/39
Hence A is the correct answer IMO.

Total integers from 2 to 40 inclusive = 40 -2 + 1 = 39
Integers from 2 to 40 inclusive which are perfect square or a prime = {2,3,4,5,7,9,11,13,16,17,19,23,25,29,31,36,37} : 17 numbers
Probability = Favorable / Total = 17/39
