- • The percent by which papaya pulp is more expensive than banana pulp.
Approach and Working out:
Price of the mixed juice = Price of 25% banana pulp + price of 75% papaya pulp
- • 120% of price of 100% banana pulp = Price of 25% banana pulp + price of 75% papaya pulp
• 1.2 (price of 25% banana pulp + price of 75% banana pulp) = Price of 25% banana pulp + price of 75% papaya pulp
• 0.2 × price of 25% banana pulp + 1.2 × price of 75% banana pulp = Price of 75% papaya pulp
• 0.2 × price of 25% banana pulp + 1.2 × 3 × price of 25% banana pulp = Price of 75% papaya pulp
• Price of 25% banana pulp (0.2 + 3.6) = 3 × Price of 25% papaya pulp
• 3.8 × Price of 25% banana pulp = 3 × Price of 25% papaya pulp
• 3.8 /3 = price of 25% papaya pulp / price of 25% banana pulp
• Price of 25% papaya pulp / price of 25% banana pulp ×100 = \(\frac{3.8 }{3}\) × 100
o =\(\frac{ 3.6 +0.2 }{3 }\)× 100
o 120% + 6.67% = 126.67%
Hence, option B is the correct answer.

Let the cost of 100B = 100 (1)
Then the cost of 25B + 75P = 120 (2)
Multiply (2) by 4 to get 100B + 300P = 480 subtract 100B = 100 from that to get:
300P = 380 which means that 300P ($380) is 80 more than 300B ($300).
