Average = Total sum/total number
Sum of weights of 5 people = 120*5= 600
Let the weight of 6th person be x
So, (600+x)/6 = 125
600 + x = 750
x = 150

Method 1:
Total weight of 5 people = 120*5= 600
Let the 6th person weigh x pounds
=> (600+x)/6 = 125
=> x = 150
Method 2: - useful when the calculations in the direct method are difficult
Observe that the weight increased for the earlier 5 people from 120 to 125 ie. increase of 5 pounds each
Thus, the total weight of the initial 5 people effectively increased by 5*5 = 25 pounds.
This 25 pounds must have been contributed to the other 5 people from the weight of the 6th person.
Thus, even after 25 pounds was removed from the 6th person, he weighs 125 pounds
=> Initially, he must have been
= 125 + 25
= 150 pounds
