3% = 3/100
5% = 5/100

(3/100)/(5/100)
= (3/100)*(100/5)
= 300/500
= 3/5 which is 60%

(A) 60%
(B) 50%
(C) 40%

Explanation: let x% of 5%=3%
x=3/5*100
x=60

Hence A is the correct answer.

Solution:

Let 3% be x% of 5%

=> 3/100 = (x/100)*(5/10)

=> x = 3 x 100 / 5 =60% (option a)
