Jalal started work 2 years ago. His starting salary was 1/2 of Millat's salary at that time. Each year since then Jalal has received a raise of 5% in his salary and Millat has received a raise of 10% in his salary. What percentage (to the nearest percent) of Millat's current salary is Jalal's current salary?

Let Jalal's salary 2 years ago = J, Millat's salary two years ago = M
Given: J = M/2, Jalal received a raise of 5% each year and Millat received a raise of 10% each year for 2 years.Current salary of Jalal = J * 1.05 * 1.05 = M/2 * 1.05 * 1.05
Current salary of Millat = M * 1.1 * 1.1
Jalal's current salary as percentage of Millat's current salary = \(\frac{M}{2 * 1.05 * 1.05/M * 1.1 * 1.1 * 100}\) = 45.55% \(\approx\) 46%
So, current answer is option B.@

Yes the approach is correct, but numbers are incorrect.
So for Millat 100, then 110 and then 121.
For Jalal, 50, then 52.5 then 55.125.
So, yes 55.125 is approx 46% of 121.
You took 10% for Jalal and 5% for Millat. Otherwise it's fine.
