As she walked 2 hours less on the second day compared to the first, it means that she walked 8 hours on the first day, and 6 hours on the second.

Day 1: Speed = x Time = 8 Distance = D
Distance = Speed*Time
D = 8x (1)

Day 2: Speed = x+0.5 Time = 6 Distance = 52-D
Distance = Speed*Time
52 - D = 6x + 3 (2)
PLUGGING IN (1) INTO (2)
52 - 8x = 6x + 3
49 = 14x
x = 3.5

As she walked 0.5 km/h faster, her speed was 4.

Tammy climbed a mountain in two days. She spent a total of 14 hours climbing the mountain. On the second day, she walked at an average speed that was half a kilometer per hour faster, but 2 hours less than what she walked on the first day. If the total distance she climbed during the two days is 52 kilometers, how many kilometers per hour did Tammy walk on the second day?

A. 3
B. 3.5
C. 4
D. 4.5
E. 6
x is the speed on the first day.
\(x+\frac{1}{2}\) is the speed on the second day.
Time taken is 8 hours on first and 6 hours on second day, totalling 14 hours.
Now,
\(8x + 6*(x+\frac{1}{2}) = 52\)
14x = 52 - 3
x = 3.5

Answer B.
OMG...
Still the same mistake. This is like infinite times. :x :cry: :roll:
