Equation as what he should have gotten for 9months = what he got for 9months

Let price of cycle be x (for 12 months)

What he should have gotten -
15k for 12 months then for 1month it is 1250 and thus for 9 months should have got 1250*9 = 11,250
+
3x/4 (as price for one month for cycle is x/12 and for 9 months is 9*x/12 which is 3x/4)


what he got = 11,000 + x

so ie = 11,250 + 3x/4 = 11,000 + x

250 = x/4

Hence x is 1000
