In an admission test, 1/3 of the students failed the test and 2/3 of those who passed the test could clear the interview round. Of those who passed the interview round, at least 1/4 will not be able to able to take admission because of financial constraints. If the admission committee wants to admit at most 350 students, what is the maximum number of students that they can allow to sit for the exam?

Consider the total no of applicants to be 90x.
2/3 can pass the test :2/3(90x) = 60x
3/4 can take admission : 3/4(60x) = 45x
Max admission allowed is 350.
Therefore to have the maximum no of admissions :
45x=350
x = 7 (approx)
Max no of test takes will be 90 * 7 = 630.
Any value above 630 will break the constraint (max admission of 350).
Seeing the options, the only available answer is A.
