Given: George went to a fruit market with certain amount of money. With this money he can buy either 50 oranges or 40 mangoes. He retains 10% of the money for taxi fare and buys 20 mangoes.

Asked: How many oranges can he buy?

He spends 50% of the money to buy 20 mangoes.
He spends 10% of the money on taxi fare
He spends the remaining 40% of the money to buy oranges = 50*40% = 20

50 oranges + 40 Mangooes =2 times the money so divide the whole thing by 2 we have gotten total oranges possible along with 20 Mangoes as per the question ie 25 oranges but we need to retain 10% of total money for taxi from 25 oranges amount 25 oranges is half of x so 10 percent of x is 20 percent of 25 oranges hence 5 Oranges answer is 25 - 5 Oranges left. 20
