Area of path = Outer area - inner area
area of stone = 2x1= 2
Outer area = (5+50+5)(5+40+5) = 3000
Inner area = 50x40 = 2000
Area of path = 1000
# of stone needed = area of path/area of stone
= 1000/2
= 500
So C is the correct answer choice.
