Time taken by bob=x days
Time taken by Adam to complete 1/2 work = x/6 days
=> Time taken by Adam to complete work= x/3 days

Given 1/x + 3/x = 1/10
=> x=40 (C)

Solution : Time = A: B 2:6
Efficiency = A: B = 6: 2
Work = 10*8
Bob's time =80/2 = 40
Answer : C

lets take time taken by bob be t days , rate of work of bob is 1/t .
adam does 1/2 work in t/6 days , hence same work in t/3 days . rate of work of adam is 3/t .
now 3/t + 1/t = 1/10
t = 40 days whic is required answer
