A frame = A - A picture
We have Af + Ap = q
=> A - Ap + Ap = q
=> A = q ( A = a^2) => a = √q
P picture = 4*(√q - 2p) = 4√q - 8p
So the answer is E
We have Af + Ap = q
=> A - Ap + Ap = q

P picture = 4*(√q - 2p) = 4√q - 8p
So the answer is E

if we take p=1 and the side of the picture to be 2, then q = (3*3-2*2) + (2*2) = 9. The perimeter is 4*2=8 for the picture.
Now, taking D as option,
4(√9 - 1) = 4*2 = 8.
Then how come E is the right answer choice ?
