Hi Experts, can you please show the method? MartyTargetTestPrep mikemcgarry KarishmaB Bunuel Thanks!

15C+8P= 7C+14P
15C-7C= 14P-8P
8C= 6P
4C=3P
C= 3P/4
Therefore, 15C+8P= (15*3P/4)+8P
45P/4+8P= (45+32)P/4= 77P/4= 19.25P
Option E is the answer

I saw your solution, but can you explain why you are making the ratio in terms on C and P? Wouldn't that be x is the total weight of flour mixture? What is your thought process behind doing what you did? Appreciate detailed response.

Here,
15 cupcakes + 8 pizzas = 7 cupcakes + 14 pizzas (Both need 1 sack of flour)
8 cupcakes = 6 pizzas

\(1 cupcake = \frac{3}{4} pizza\)
\(15 cupcakes = 15 * \frac{3}{4} = 11\frac{1}{4} pizzas\)

15 cupcakes + 8 pizzas is equivalent to a bit more than 11 + 8 i.e. a bit more than 19 pizzas.

Answer (E)

This question is an easier version of work rate questions involving teams.

I used ratio here,
15-7=8 decrease
14-8=6 increase
Now we have to make all P, so C has to be brought to 0 so,
8......6
1......6/8
7...... 7* (6/8) = 5 1/4 , this is the increase in P so total P= 14+5 1/4
