Let Carlos's original intake of calories be \(y\) and Carol's be \(x \)
We need \(\frac{y -x}{x}*100 ....\)(I)
Also given \(.80y = .12x\)
\(y= 1.5x\)
\(\frac{1.5x -x}{x} * 100 \) \(= 50 \%\).... putting the value of \(y\) in (I)
